Getting the Hanged Man's boots is a task in Disco Elysium.

In order to succeed 1) the body has to be down, 2) autopsy has to be finished, 3) and Kim has to be absent (he wouldn't approve). This will be *devilishly* tricky, so don't beat yourself up if you manage to send the body to the processing without getting hold of the boots.
Walkthrough[ | ]
- This task is deceptively simple. First, you need to get the hanged man down from the tree and perform the field autopsy. Then, get rid of Kim. The easiest way is to finish the day's activities and let him leave to his room at the Whirling-in-Rags. Alternatively, you can get him to take someone down to the station, which will keep him busy and gone.
- Then you just need to approach the body and take off the boots (usually with rotting flesh inside). If you fridge the victim's body in the bowels of the Doomed Commercial Area, you'll get a bonus on the check.
- Once you have the rotting flesh and boots, you can take them to the Whirling-in-Rags' kitchen and boil them off and scour the boots to obtain the Fairweather T-500 Greaves. Not bad for second-hand equipment.
