Arda is a sub-continent on the Katla isola.[10] Lake trout are found in Arda and are popular in national recipes.[11] Moose are found in Arda.[12] A cryptid called the dread moose is purported to live in Arda. It looks just like a normal moose but is carnivorous.[13] The Man from Hjelmdall series takes place in a fictionalized Arda NFD.[10]

Kvalsund is an Ardan word meaning "whale fjord".[14]
