Tasks are the equivalent of quests for a detective of your stature. Tasks are automatically added to your journal - not all of them will be available at any given point or even possible to be completed in one playthrough. There are two major cut off points for solving side tasks:
- Finding Ruby beneath the Feld building will lead to a major event that will close off all cryptozoologist and harbor-related tasks.
- Travelling to the Sea Fortress is a one-way trip. Returning will trigger the endgame debriefing.
Investigation tasks
Identifying the body
